I'm a fourth grade teacher who writes in my spare time. Middle grade is where I live! My first book, Darkness Over Daerland, is a portal-to-another-world fantasy and features a prominent character with Down syndrome. My younger brother has Down syndrome, and growing up I looked for books with characters like him. They were almost nonexistent, so I decided to write some myself. I'm currently working on a realistic fiction series, also featuring a character with Down syndrome.
